There's No Business Like Snow Business

As with, probably, everyone else in the country, I've had a snow filled weekend this weekend. It started Friday when we were sent home from work; too snowy to stay in work in town, but not too snowy to go to the boyf's up the mountain, hehe! Probably should have stayed in work; but I didn't want to miss out on all the fun!

Day Trippin'

After our spur of the moment day trip to Conwy a couple of weeks ago, me and the boyf decided to go away for the weekend to explore a bit more of the North Wales coastline.

We stayed in Porthmadog.

We visited Carnarfon

Spent the day in Baumaris

And stopped off at this place on the way home

 Or Llanfair PG as it's more commonly known - try saying that drunk! [or sober if you're not Welsh!]

Then, to top it all off, on the drive back home we drove through the tiniest little village [so small I can't even find it on a map!] with quite possibly THE greatest name ever

All in all a nice weekend. We're definitely going to do more exploring in the future; there's so much to see!

Summer Days

I love days out. Even if it's just to the next town over; anything to get me away from my home town!

On Saturday, since the weather was so beautiful, spur of the moment, me and the boyf went to Conwy on the North Wales coast. It's a tiny little town, built within the walls of a Medieval Castle; Castell Conwy - there really isn't much there except for the Castle and walls, a Marina, Britain's Smallest House(!) and stunning views - but I had fun.

It was nice to walk around the castle then sit at the waters edge eating ice-cream, watching children crab fishing, whilst a street performer and fish monger battled to be heard - proper old school atmosphere.

Sorry if this post was so boring; I've literally done nothing else! I painted my nails, no design; but they turned out awful because my top coat is running out so it went on all tacky and gloopy. Hopefully in the next few days I'll have some new nails for you.

I went to the Zoo at the weekend. I love the Zoo. We go every year and I always take hundreds of pictures. It's absolutely my favourite thing to do though, I wish I could go every weekend!!!

I was going to do a tutorial on how I did the heart, but I forgot to take pictures during it! But basically, I followed this tutorial.

I used my trusty Models Own 3-in-1 Top Coat/ Base Coat / Gloss; Models Own Nude Beige; Models Own Pink Fizz; Models Own White Nail Art Pen.

Easter Catchup - Wizards Rock

So over the Easter weekend I went to Watford and to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter

Major Harry Potter geek here.

I love anything to do with Harry Potter - so absolutely jumped at the chance to go visit the place the films were actually filmed! See the sets, walk in the Great Hall...... Heaven!

The tickets were released for sale last October, and I booked mine the release date, and went for all added extras possible. These included the Digital Guide, narrated by Tom Felton, and the Souvenir Guidebook.

The Digital Guide was really interesting - in the past I have Google'd Harry Potter to death, I have seen almost every backstage behind the scenes video, interview, footage possible, so it was quite refreshing to see and hear lots of new information, made available especially for this guide.

The Souvenir Guidebook was OK. I'm glad I waiting until we were leaving before collecting it. If I'd have got it before hand, I would have read through it in the queue, and spoiled the whole tour for myself. It's basically the tour, in book-form. It'll be nice to look back on over time though.

The whole tour has had a lot of negative press. 'It's too expensive'; 'there's nothing for children to do'; 'it spoils the magic'. Admittedly, I don't think it's the place to take young children. But it's never been 'sold' as a theme park, it's a museum.

We spent just over 4 hours on the tour - including taking a break to drink Butter Beer and browsing the Gift Shop! And I managed to take over 250 photos! So I definitely think it was worth the £28 ticket price.
