Shop, Shop, Shop, Shop, Shopping

I was given so many River Island vouchers for my birthday and Christmas, but I've been having trouble spending them.

I love River Island, I check the website every day for new stuff, and there is always something I want from there. My problem is, the store in the town where I live, don't seem to stock any of the new stuff appearing on the website [or my size in shoes, but that's a whole other rant!]

I go down there every Thursday [delivery day] with vouchers in hand, praying for them to have all the things I want..... they never do.

I went again today, and bought a few things. None of which were on my 'Most Wanted' list, but they are cute nonetheless.

I also popped into Boots and used up a £5 No 7 voucher I had, which was running out of date. And puchased these. Well, I bought the Extravagant Volume Mascara, and got the Smoky Eyeliner for free - bonus!

I'm going to Liverpool and London over Easter, so hopefully I can cross everything off my 'Most Wanted' list, and use up all these vouchers! It's just not right carrying them round for nearly 4 months!

Nail Art Time

So, these were waiting for me when I got home from work today. Which means only one thing... this weekend is Nail Art Time!

The Striping Tape is off eBay and for £1.46 with free postage, you can't go wrong! They did take a while to arrive (although I would have know this if I'd read the description properly!) and they are a lot smaller and thinner than I imagined (again, not reading the description properly) so I imagine them to be very fiddly to work with, but I'll give it a go!

The nail varnish is the new-ish Models Own Kaleidoscope collection. All the colours are so bright, and so fresh. I'm really looking forward to trying them on!

Another thing I'm looking forward to 'attempting' is a Sponged Gradient. I spotted the link to this tutorial on Pinterest and fell in love! It looks amazing, and so easy! Which in Pippy world means it's nigh on impossible and will end up looking like a splodgy mess!

Hopefully I'll be back at the weekend with an abundance of fabulously amazing pictures of my fantastic nail art..... then again, maybe not.

Pip in Boots

I love these boots.

Really, really, really, love these boots.

I've had them over a year, and got them from River Island. I was a bit hesitant about them when I first got them, I wasn't sure if they were very 'me' - but quickly overcame that and they are my favourite boots, ever.

My problem is this....

Oil. Hot oil. I spilt it all over my boots whilst cooking. Then a dog licked them. And that seems to have cemented this oil into my boots and I have no idea how to get it off.

Worst Saturday morning ever.

My week in pictures

I've not been very well this week, boo! I've also had some time off work to use up my holidays, but that's always the case isn't it!? Ill on my days off. I had nothing planned, but that's not the point, I can tell you now the plan wasn't to be holed up in bed sneezing my face off!

Anyway, here is my week in pictures [w/e 18/3/12]:

It's raining cats and dogs..... and elephants?

Just a quick one,

I'm house/dog sitting at the moment with the boyf, and came across this funny little letter from the Vets, stuck to the fridge....

Now, I don't know about round by where you live, but where I live, we generally don't keep elephants as pets! Or have the need to take them to the vets!

Hope that made you smile. Have a great day!

Welcome to.... me!

Hello,

I thought I’d introduce myself by sharing a letter I wrote.

Following on from an article I read in one of the magazines a few months ago, where readers wrote letters to their teenage-self. I found it quite interesting. Like, if you could tell yourself some valuable information, warn yourself not to make a certain mistake, encourage yourself to do something you wish you had done. I quite liked that idea.

Then I started going a little stir-crazy trying to answer questions that can never be answered, like: what if I had done this/that, what would my life be like now? What if I hadn’t gone to that place, would I ever have met so-and-so? It’s not a wise idea to think too much into things like that!

Anyway, here’s my letter….

"To my teenage Pippy-self,

First of all I just want to ask something of you – in fact, I may do a bit of begging…. Get braces, please! I know you’re thinking you’d look awful, and no one else has them, but trust me; you’ll regret it otherwise. Please, do it!

I want you to leave the group of friends you have at the moment, the ones in and out of school. They are not very nice people. So get out whilst you can!

Don't worry, you'll meet new friends, well, old/new friends. They're brilliant. Completely perfect for you. You’ll remain friends for at least 10 years (since you are now 26 when writing this letter!), and you still think they are amazing! Other people have come and gone into your life, but briefly, very briefly. But those three? Always there!

You meet an amazing boy!  He loves you so much. Like, literally, ‘to the moon and back’ – so he tells you, often. He’s a real good ‘un!

You are so brave and so strong. Much more so than you probably realise. Don't ever change - well, except for the whole braces bit!

Life will turn out pretty good!
xox"

So, that's me in a nutshell.... like, a really, really small nutshell! Hopefully this blog will show me off a bit more!

I must warn you though, i'm not very interesting, at all really.

I love to cook, I love painting my nails, I love shopping. So basically anything about cooking, nails or shopping, I'm going to tell you about, along with anything else I find interesting or amusing.

Enjoy!
